Emotions such as grief, irritations, anger, happiness, sadness, and jealousy can affect our moods and attitudes in various ways. Allowing negative emotions to affect the way you act, feel, and speak can cause many problems in your life due to the fact that your actions often reflect your thoughts and emotions. Controlling your thoughts, words, and actions can change the way you respond to your feelings and emotions. You can control your emotions by examining and changing your thought process. If you find yourself lost in negative thoughts of doubt, suicide, anger, abuse, or frustration, stop what you are doing and turn to God for help immediately. Pray to the Lord asking him to take control of your thoughts, to guide you and to give you relief from any thoughts that are harmful to yourself or others, to remove your doubts, fears, anxiety, or whatever thoughts are making you feel depressed, angry, or fearful. Ask the Lord to fill your heart and mind with peaceful and loving thoughts. Don't react to situations, conversations or daily matters emotionally. Deal with every situation you are in wisely. Pray and think about matters before you act or speak. Put your trust in the Lord and consider how He would want you to handle every situation. By doing this you will be less likely to act emotionally or on impulse and are more likely to handle the matter prudently, with kind words, and understanding.
