Abiding in the Lord Part 2. Abiding means to continue (staying) for a long time. When we abide in Christ we are staying in line with His word by living as an example for others to follow, studying His word, being obedient to His laws and commandments, partaking of His body and blood, testifying by telling others about Him with the hopes that the words you speak will plant a seed in their heart and that they will get saved, and you must patiently await on His return. Wait on God My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Ps. 62:5 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.Psa. 62:6 John the Baptist Testified that Jesus is the Lamb of God-Abiding in Christ is Believing in Him and His Word The Dove that landed on and stayed on Jesus at His baptism When John the Baptist baptized Jesus, the Spirit of God landed on Jesus and John witnessed that Jesus is the Lamb of God And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.John 1:32 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. John 1:33 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. John 1:34 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; John 1:35 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! John 1:36 Taking Passover Communion is symbolic of Jesus Christ’s body and blood which shows that you abide in Christ and He abides inside you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. John 6:56 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. John 6:57 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John 6:58 When You Study the Lord’s Word You Are Abiding in Him Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 Jesus is the True Vine-If you (the branch) are not fruitful you will be cut off I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.John 15:1 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 15:2 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. John 15:3 To Abide in Him-Be Fruitful-Testify to Others-Bring People To Christ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4 You Cannot Do Nothing-If You Do Not Abide in Jesus I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6 When You Truly Abide in The Lord And He Abides in You-You May Ask What You Want & It Will Be Done If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7 We Become His Disciples when We Testify to Others Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8 Jesus Loves You as Much as God the Father Loves Him As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. John 15:9 To Abide in the Love of Christ You Must Keep God the Father’s Commandments If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11 Love Each Other As Christ Loves You This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:12 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 Be A Friend of Christ Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:14 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. John 15:15
