Obedience is an important key to receiving blessings from God. The Lord tells us that if we love Him we must keep His commandments, that obedience leads to righteousness and to God, our Father in heaven.
Obedience plays a critical role in our lives as Christ taught us. Even, Christ was obedient to God the Father. The Holy Bible has many laws to deal with various areas of obedience. Being obedient to God shows Him that you love Him. Show God You Love Him by Keeping His Commandments God made commandments for us to follow. These commandments were made for our benefit and well being in life here on earth. When you follow His commandments you are showing God you love Him
If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15
The Lord Gets Upset When You Do Not Do What He Says When you don't keep the Lord's Commandments, Laws, & Statues, it shows your disrespect for God. God wants you to do what He says. When you do not do as He says, it shows Him that you do not love Him.

Who Do You Serve? There is a story often called the parable of two wolves, and is attributed to the Cherokee nation that demonstrates the following verse and brings the point to the surface.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:16
A Grandfather speaking with his grandson says, "There are two wolves inside each of us. These two wolves are always at war with one another. One of the wolves is good and represents all good things like kindness, bravery, and love. The other is a bad wolf who represents all things that are bad, like greed, hatred, and fear. The Grandson contemplates on these words for a moment, then looks up at his Grandfather and says, "Grandfather, which one wins?" The Grandfather quietly replied, "The one you feed". This same war between good and evil resides in all of us. Which one do you feed?
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 7:21
God wants us to do more than just hear the word of God. He does not want us to be deceived by man's customs and traditions. God wants us to be doers. He wants us to think about His words day and night and to do the things that the Bible teaches us. Doing what God wants us to do will ensure that we will have good success in life.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: Isa. 1:19
There are lots of laws in the Bible particularly in the Old Testament of which we as followers of Christ should be doing and many sacrifice rituals are also described. Servants, be obedient to them that are [your] masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Eph. 6:5 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; Eph. 6:6 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Eph. 6:7 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether [he be] bond or free. Eph. 6:8 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Eph. 6:9
