The Apostle Jude was also called Thaddeus, Lebbeus, and son of Alpheus or Cleophas and Mary. The meaning of Jerome called Jude or Trinomious which is to say a man with three name. Mark 3:18 refers to Jude as Thaddeus yet in Matt. 10:3 Jude is referred to as Lebbeus. Thaddeus is his surname. Luke 6:16 and Acts 1:13 refer to Jude as the brother of James, Judas Thadddeus was also referred to as Judas the Zealot.
His personality has been referred to as intense and violent. He had a desire for world power by the chosen people and wanted to make Jesus Christ famous throughout the world as a ruling King. However, Jude was less known than many of the other apostles. Jesus admonished Jude in John 14:22-23 telling him that power cannot be substituted for love.
It is said that Jude died a martyr's death as many of the other disciples. It is reported that he died in Persia and was killed with arrows at Ararat.
