SAs festive as Christmas decorations and symbols may seem, there is a dark side to all of them, where they come from originally is not biblical in origin. The origin of Christmas trees, holly, wreaths, mistletoe, santa claus, and even gift giving during this holiday are all pagan in origin. The Christmas tree is mentioned in the bible as a false God. The symbols and decorations of the Christmas Holiday each have a specific meaning which is why they are used during this holiday season with all of them having pagan origins. The most common Christmas decorations are the Christmas tree which was worshiped as a false god in biblical history.
Holly, ivy, wreathes, and mistletoe and even the yule log were historically used in pagan rituals and integrated into the pagan Christmas celebrations.
Santa Claus? No explanation should be needed to realize Santa Claus has nothing to do with the birth of Christ and yet, people who insist on observing the pagan Christmas holiday still lie to their children telling them this mythical Santa Claus brought presents for them. Gift giving: Gift giving was common during the celebration of Saturnalia (a pagan holiday now called Christmas). Why churches teach pagan holidays as Christian holidays and why people still observe them: Many churches today still preach and teach their followers that Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth. Most know that it has pagan origins and that the holiday is observed on a pagan holiday date and not on Christ's actual birthday which was nowhere near Dec. 25. The Catholic church allowed the pagan rituals because many Catholics had pagan wives or husbands. Not wanting to lose the money that was given to support the church they integrated pagan customs and found ways to try to make them seem like Godly customs. The real reason the churches do not want to tell people the truth is money, habit, and tradition. Many people will leave the church because they want to hold onto their endearing family tradition of Christmas that they were taught since childhood and as a result the church would lose much of the tithe money that they use to support their churches and pastors. Most stores won't tell you Christmas is a pagan holiday because they make more money at Christmas time than during all of the rest of the year put together. However, the Bible teaches us not to follow mans customs but to follow God's laws. Many people are just finding these things out due to the widespread reach of the internet and of those who discover that Christmas, Easter, and other holidays they have celebrated all of their lives still hang onto these traditions even after they know that they are from pagan origins. People worshiped the sun not the Son of God.
