Have you ever prayed and felt like God didn't answer you prayer? There may be a reason your prayer wasn't answered. Here are reasons your prayers may not have been answered and what you can do to fix it. Sometimes we pray to the Lord and we get impatient, not wanting to wait for His answer, or worse we don't listen for His answer. All too often, God does answer but we are not listening for His voice so we may think He did not answer, but one of the main reasons God doesn't answer some prayers is because people ask the wrong way. Praying the wrong way, also called, asking amiss (asking for something you know is not in line with God's will), not praying in the spirit, only praying when you want something or praying selfishly, are just a few reasons why your prayer was not answered. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 4:3 Asking the wrong way can hinder your prayers. If you are not getting your prayer's answered, it just may be because you are asking the wrong way. Before you ask the Lord for something you need to greet him properly. For example, Jesus greeted the Lord in prayer saying, "Our Father who art in Heaven". Before you ask for something you must first ask for forgiveness of your sins so that God can hear your prayer. He knows what you need and He knows what you want but He also has plans for you. If what you are asking are not in line with His plans, you may not get an answer. You cannot get something from the Lord if you do not ask Jesus said we have not because we ask not. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:14 Wrong motives can hinder your prayers If you pray to God and ask with the wrong motives, you are asking amiss so your prayers will not be answered.
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:3 NIV
If you have iniquity in your heart the Lord will not hear your prayers. Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. Psalm 66:17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: Psalm 66:19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Psalm 66:20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Always Praying in the Spirit You should always pray in the Spirit. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" Ephesians 6:18. The Holy Spirit (Ghost) helps us when we are weak and intercedes on your behalf with groans that words cannot express. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express Romans 8:26 Find out what the Holy Spirit is
