The bible tells us to love our enemies but if you have an enemy it seems there is more to it than that. When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. If you have an enemy, the bible says you should love your enemies being good to them and even lending to them, being kind to the ungrateful, unthankful and even the evil people of this world.
When enmity began: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. One of the most popular verses about enemies says to love your enemies, do good to them, even lending without expecting anything in return. By behaving in this way toward your enemies you will make peace with them and you will be rewarded by the Lord.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35
When Jesus died on the cross for our sins he abolished the curse of enmity bringing peace to the world. If you are a friend of the world you are an enemy of God. We are not to befriend the enemies of God (those who are unsaved) but rather admonish them so that they may be saved and become a friend of God.

We are to have no part of those who do not obey the word of God yet we are not to count them as enemy but rather we should admonish them as a brother.
