Jesus Christ was despised and rejected by men and was in deep sorrow and grief because we hid our faces from Him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him: he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isa. 53:3
Jesus carried our griefs and sorrows when He died on the cross yet many do not appreciate His sacrifice and considered him struck down, smitten by God and afflicted. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isa. 53:4 Jesus Christ was bruised and punished for our transgressions and iniquities and because of His sacrifice we are all healed.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are all healed. Isa. 53:5
Jesus grieved because people's hearts were so hard yet he healed the man with the withered hand And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. Mk. 3:5 Grievious For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders: but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Mt. 23:4 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. I Jn. 5:3 Groaning (Groaned, Groaneth) Jn. 11:33 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Rom. 8:22 Groaning (Groanings) Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? Romans 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
