Justified by Faith is Part 6 in our Finding Your Faith Bible Study series defining exactly what justified by faith means. We are all sinners. When I pray to the Lord I often find myself feeling unworthy of His love, unworthy of His help. I know that there is nothing I could do in my life to be worthy of Him to even take a glance my way but because I have been justified by faith, I can call on Him, I can fellowship with Him, and feel loved by Him. Being justified by faith means that all sinners are justified by faith because Jesus Christ died for our sins, just as all were condemned to sin because of Adams sin. Paul explains more about being justified by faith in Romans chapter 5. As sinners we can rejoice in hope, have peace with God and access to God by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
When we go through trials and tribulations we can have hope because going through hard times teaches us patience through experience.
Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Romans 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
The love of God is in our hearts because of the Holy Ghost which lives inside us and because of this we can have hope and not be ashamed of the things we have had to go through and endure but rather, we can have hope for the future because God loves us so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for the ungodly.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Romans 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
We as sinners are justified because of Christ's sacrifice which means, we are saved from the wrath of God which we would have had to endure as enemies of God had Christ's blood not been shed to cover our sins as an atonement.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Romans 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
We are justified through Christ, this is a free gift because of the grace of God, the gift of grace because of one man, Jesus Christ and because of His ultimate blood sacrifice, all men came to justification of life.
Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Romans 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
All became sinners when Adam sinned but everyone can be made righteous because of Christ.
Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Because of Christ's sacrifice we are justified by grace, and can have eternal life.
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
What Jesus said about Justification:
Matthew 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
Matthew 11:17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
Matthew 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
People who hear the law and do not do it will not be justified. Only doers of the law are justified. The words you speak out of your mouth can either justify, (defend) you in the eyes of God or they can condemn you in the eyes of God. Be careful what you say because your word's have power. We will be judged by our deeds. Those who are patient, doing good, seeking the glory of God, honor, will receive glory, honor, and the immortality of eternal life. Those who do not obey the truth and live unrighteous lives will undergo severe tribulation and anguish riling God's indignation and anger and as a result will perish without the law.
Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Romans 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Romans 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Romans 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Romans 2:13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Those who believe that Jesus died and was raised up from the dead to deliver us from our offences are justified.
Romans 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
In conclusion, those of us who are saved by grace (because we are undeserving of His precious gift) and believe that Christ died for our sins and rose again are Justified by Faith through Jesus Christ our Lord and as a result we feel peace between us and God.
