How Philip Died
Philip died as a martyr in Hierapolis. Some believe he died by hanging and that before he died he made a request that his body be not wrapped in linen but in papyrus because he did not feel he was worthy to be buried in the same cloth as Jesus Christ.

Philip's apostolic symbol is the basket referring to the part he played in the feeding of the five thousand.
