Confessing your sins is an essential element in order to be forgiven of your sins. Confessing and being forgiven cleanses you from unrighteousness (wickedness).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:19
It is important to confess your sins to each other and to pray for each other in order to receive healing. Praying with passionate intensity is very helpful and beneficial
Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
We should never try to hide our sins but rather confess our sins and then renounce the sins, turn away from them and do not do it again in order to receive the Lord's mercy.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
The Lord will forgive our sins if we confess our sins to the Lord.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. Psalms 32:5
And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Acts 19:18

God is merciful, loving and kind and will blot out our sins as if they never existed if we acknowledge our sins and confess them with our mouth he will forgive us.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalm 51:1

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9
Confess with your mouth that the Lord Jesus was raised from the dead by God and you will be saved.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
