Jesus was very specific when He told his disciples how to pray. As his disciples of this day and age we are still required to do this. Christian's who are following the will of the Lord will proclaim His word to all the world. If you are a saved Christian you are his disciple and therefore His instructions do pertain to you. The Lord's is a specific guideline telling you exactly how to pray. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. St. Matt. 7 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. St. Matt. 6:8 The Lord's Prayer After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. St. Matt. 6:9 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven St. Matt. 6:10 Give us this day our daily bread. St. Matt. 6:11 And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. St. Matt. 6:12 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. St. Matt. 6:13
