We receive the power of the Holy Spirit by being born again
When we are baptized we are born again baptized by water and in the spirit. Jesus, was speaking to Nic-o-de'-mus when he had asked how a person could be born a second time and Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.John 3: 5 That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.John 3:6 Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again." John 3: 7 When Will I Receive the Power of the Holy Ghost? Jesus tells us that we will receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon us and when it happens we will tell others about Him. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 God Will Pour Out His Spirit On All Flesh in the Last Days Acts 2:17"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Acts 2:18. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. Acts 2:19 And I will show wonders in heavan above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood and fire, and vapour of smoke Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord comes. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know. RAW POWER-GOD CAN DO THINGS IN THIS WORLD He can and will change things in your life! He has that kind of power! For so many years, the evil one has deceived so many people. Yes, even in the churches! The churches, (not all churches but many) I went to when I was growing up taught about a hell fire and brimstone God that would burn you up when you died, if you did not follow the rules set out by the church. Other church's pray to idols and observe pagan holidays rather than God's Holy Days. God's biblical laws are the one's we must follow, we have to be obedient, we have to follow Jesus example, read the word, believe in His mighty power, and we must be born again in water and spirit.
They taught us that we could not get any real help from God, here in this world, but that we would get a reward when we got in heaven. Yet, believers did not recognize that God has any real power! They did not teach us that Jesus had power that He gave to us as a gift when He left this earth. Yet the teachings in the Bible by our Lord Jesus Christ tells us that the Lord does have power and that it is available for us to use, if we know how to use it and as long as we are trying to use it for good and not evil!
We must be able to harness that power by our belief in Him and direct it by faith-we have that ability. Now we can not truly harness the Holy Spirit but learning how to use it in our lives instead of walking through life as if we have no control over our destiny. Using the power of the Holy Spirit to change our lives to what God wants for us, His will not our own. Believing that God truly has the power to change things that are happening in our lives here and now is something many do not want you to know but Jesus sent His powerful spirit to live in you as a comforter and a teacher.
Miracles are obtained by the measure of faith that we have in the Lord The measure of faith that we have to believe that what we ask-we will receive. I often wondered why they never taught us about the power of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Was it because they were afraid of it? or was it the evil one's way of keeping us from knowing that God in heaven is real and really powerful and that He can really help you now, in this life, in this world and that you don't have to wait until you die to get help!
I was terrified when I first learned of the Holy Spirit. Just the thought that there was real power at my fingertips was overwhelming and almost unbelievable but once I learned how to get it and learn from it..the results were simply amazing. My prayers were answered that had been unanswered before. I developed a Spiritual relationship with the Lord. I could hear His voice. I knew what He wanted from me. I was no longer worried, fearful or doubtful. The same thing can happen to you.
The devil does not want us to know about this power Recognizing the power of the Holy Spirit (Ghost) and learning how to learn from the Holy Spirit allows us to harness this power and put it to use in our daily lives WHEN JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS HE SENT HIS SPIRIT TO US When Jesus Christ died on the cross he departed and sent the Holy Spirit (Comforter) to us as he told His disciples: Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart I will send him unto you. St. John 16:7
Peter reproves the Mockers
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Acts 2:12 Others mocking said, these men are full of new wine. Acts 2:13 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this know unto you, and hearken to my words: Acts 2:14 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. Acts 2:15 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; Acts 2:16 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Acts 2:17
