One of the first questions asked about praising the Lord was why should you praise the Lord? The answer is simple and it is the reason for this bible study.
Why Should You Praise the Lord?
You should praise the Lord because it is a show of respect, love, and gratitude for His ultimate sacrifice of love for you, because he is the reason for your salvation, the reason you are breathing, the reason you are living, and the reason you have this world to live in. Praising the Lord is an act of worship that shows Him that you are thankful and appreciative of Him and what He has done for you.
How Do You Praise the Lord?
The following are ways you can praise the Lord:
Praise Him during prayer: When you pray to Him tell Him what an awesome God He is.
Praise Him when you are talking to others:Tell other people the great things the Lord has done for you in your life and how He has changed your life for the better. This glorifies God.
Praise Him with your songs: Sing songs to the Lord not just to other people.
Psalm 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Psalm 150:2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Psalm 150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Psalm 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Psalm 150:5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
Praise Him with your actions: Don't just be someone who talks about the Lord-Be about the Lord. Let your actions and behaviors be above reproach. When people around you see that you live what you are teaching it will inspire them to come to the Lord. Your words need to match your actions, otherwise people will think you a fool and won't pay any attention to what you are saying about the Lord.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1 (KJV) 
Praise Him with your heart:
​Jesus had this to say about the Pharisee's who honored Him with their mouths but not in their heart:
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Matt. 15:8
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matt. 15:9
Praise and exalt the Lord Because He is Your Strength, Song, and Salvation
The Lord is your strength, song, and salvation. He is God, the one true God and is more than worthy of your respect. It is only right that you should praise and exalt him above all others.

• The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2
• O Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people Psalm 117:1

Singing and praising the Lord before battle
If you find yourself knowing that you are about to go into some rough times or go to battle in this world or feel that you are in a spiritual battle you should be sure to praise the Lord and sing before you go.

• And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.2 Ch 20:21

Praise the Lord while you are living because you cannot praise Him after you die

• What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? Psa. 30:9

Praise the Lord to receive His help
The Lord enjoys your praise and wants to help you, put your hope in God and praise Him. Simply praying for something you want is not enough, you need to praise Him and believe.
Praise the Lord always and even when you are asking for His help

• Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psa. 42:5

Praise the Lord publicly so others will praise Him too. 
We should praise the Lord and let others know we are praising Him so that they will praise Him in front of others too, thereby spreading the word of the Lord quickly. Make a point to schedule time each day that you can just praise God, no matter whether you are alone or with others.

• I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever. Psa. 45:17
• Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Psa. 67:3

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain Psa. 76:10
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. Psa. 115:17
All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.Psa. 145:10
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. Prov. 27:2
The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
Isa. 38:19
